New Collection & Processing Services available from Auckland Drum

Auckland Drum Sustainability Services (Auckland Drum) has expanded its drum and IBC offering to include a greater range of services for 'hard to recycle' industrial packaging.

Steve Mead, General Manager of Auckland Drum, says the company can now work with customers, Councils or industry groups to deliver dedicated national collection programs for products such as used plastic and steel drums, IBCs, cubes, jerrycans and pails.

Our dedicated truck fleet, Mead explains, can safely collect a variety of used packaging, remove the residues from these products and then deliver them for re-use, if appropriate. Alternatively, he says, where the packaging is damaged or unsuitable for cleaning, we can arrange reprocessing so that the resin can be used as post consumer recyclate (PCR) in new packaging or industrial products.

Mead says it doesn't matter if you're a farm, Council or even corporate organisation, Auckland Drum can now provide a tailored collection service for 'hard to recycle' packaging which cannot be collected via traditional recycling networks.

Auckland Drum's new Collection Services and Industry Programs support users of industrial packaging with a way of safely disposing and recycling contaminated containers. These new services have evolved out of growing environmental concern and new legislation such as the Waste Minimisation Bill which seeks to discourage landfill. Mead says Auckland Drum understands its customers' packaging strategies are becoming more broadly focused with a 'cradle to cradle' philosophy and these services are dedicated to fulfilling this need.
